Jazz Room

Two sets, one cover, low ceilings.

Bars where the music is the reason and the cocktail is the ritual. Basement trios, brick vaults, corner stages that have not moved in seventy years. Expect a cover charge, a drink minimum, and the best two hours of your week.

Questions people ask

Should I expect a cover charge?
Yes — usually between ten and forty dollars, often with a one- or two-drink minimum at the bar rail. It goes to the musicians.
Can I talk during the set?
Between numbers, quietly. During a ballad, no. The room will let you know.
What time do sets usually start?
First set around eight or nine, second around eleven. The late set is looser and generally better.
